All aircraft are of the 14-18 period (Must have left the ground during this period). 2. All "ACES" with a score of 5.0 or higher must obey the 3.0 hour handicap. All others with a score of ZERO to 4.99 may start immediately, if not sooner! Offenders will be dealt with severely! 3. To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification. 4. And whom ever wins this challenge will have to provide a new one! If this can not be done for any reason, please PM Breguet and he will take over as host! 5. If an ace gives the correct answer too early, the challenge is over, he gets no point but has to post the next challenge. In lieu of the fact that the "novices" have in effect been "cheated" of their "exclusive" time that next post should be a relatively easy one. Anyone repeating the correct answer at the right time gets neither a point nor the right to post the next challenge. 6. The final arbitrator of all things to do with the "rules" is Breguet. |

The wing reminds me of the early Junkers J.1 (E.I), but nothing else is even close. A very nice challenging fotograf.  MERRY CHRISTMAS, FOKKERJ  P.S. Nice extra large foto! It's big enough to use as "wall paper"!

May be its a re-built Nieuport IV with wings equipped with ailerons with yoke control Controls were transformed to conventional. , rudder was controlled by pedals. Aircraft performed well, series production was planned. But the accidental death of pilot B.Z.Danovsky (May 31, 1916) ended those plans. The designer of this rebuilt Nieuport was Vladimir Victorovich Slusarenko JOYEUX NOËL Cordialement Bruno

I think we are looking at a crashed Sikorsky S 12 (or S 12bis) [Сикорский С 12]. A monoplane with somewhat Taube like ailerons and a rotary 80 hp Gnome.
The only thing against it are the pylons for the wing wiring in front or aft of the pilot cockpit. The S 12 is I have seen it had a bundle of 4 rods just before the pilot. Some of the few built Sikorsky S 12 machines made it till 1922 well into the Soviet period (red stars on the wings). Cheers Kees

Sikorski 12 ou Sikorski 7 ? That is the question ? The main strut let me think it was a Sikorski 7 it Sikorsky S-7 - It is said that it crashed in a ploughed field ...like on photo JOYEUX NOEL Cordialement Bruno

Descriptions of Sikorsky S.11 fits better - S.7 had undivided elevator, and S.12 had one kingpost. S.11 had all this like on the photo, but shape of ailerons was another I think...
