Manfred Von Richthofen's Secret Admirer

Did the girl who wrote the letters which the Red Baron cared so much about ever reveal herself?

Mate,
According to the best infomation that I have seen or in conversations via e-mail with Peter Kilduff, the lady in question's name was never revealed, by either his mother or his comrads in arms.

The name, whoever she was, has apparently been lost to history.

There was an article written for "Over the Front" in the Fall 1997 issue that did a pretty thorough review of all the romantic questions in Manfred's life. The title of the article is "The Girl He Left Behind" by Jan Hayzlett and Suzanne Fischer. I think it does a good job of covering all the material on what little is known on this aspect of MvR's life.

Mate,
I agree, but the article still does not give up the name of the girl.
