Nieuport 27s of N 156

While looking through OTF v.9n.1 pg.69, the early version of the N 156's insignia caught my eye as it is rather striking. What also caught my eye was the rudder hinge line. It appears to go straight to the top, there is no counterbalance. The shape of the rudder suggests a N. 24 0r 27 but I've never seen one with a rudder like that. Can anyone comment?
Also I am looking for photos of N.27s from N.156 if anyone can point me in the right direction.

TIA,

J

Since I am on the subject of Nieuport 27s, let me put this up for consideration. What would you say is the chord of the lower wing? 700mm,720mm or 725mm.

Again,thanks.

Hello J

As far Y can read here : Nieuport 27
I think that chord of the lower wing is 730 mm

Here is the Spa 156 insignia (beautiful)

The escadrille 156 used as insignia two birds ("martinets" in french) playing in flight, chosen by captain Paumier from a Japanese print

Cordialement
Bruno

Thanks Froggy, I have those drawings on CDROM. I am really looking for the earlier insignia, a black raven in a somewhat "hunkered down" pose.
