Breguet's Crash Files
The rules:
1. All aircraft are of the 14-18 period (Must have left the ground during this period).
2. All "ACES" with a score of 5.0 or higher must obey the 3.0 hour handicap. All others with a score of ZERO to 4.99 may start immediately, if not sooner!
3. To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.
4. And whom ever wins this challenge will have to provide a new one! If this can not be done for any reason, please PM Breguet and he will take over as host!
5. If an ace gives the correct answer too early, the challenge is over, he gets no point but has to post the next challenge. In lieu of the fact that the "novices" have in effect been "cheated" of their "exclusive" time that next post should be a relatively easy one. Anyone repeating the correct answer at the right time gets neither a point nor the right to post the next challenge.
6. The final arbitrator of all things to do with the "rules" is Breguet.

Flamingo
I believe this to be an Aviatik C1 model based on the slender fuselage and shape of the tailplane

Hello Flamingo,
This fotograf looks touched up, see the Eisenkreuse on the fuselage.
Judging by the tailplane, elevator control cable, stabilizer strut arrangement, and wings it looks like an Albatros C.I to me.
Thank goodness it isn't a B.E.2/12 a,b,c,d,e,f, through z R.E.8!
HAPPY TRAILS, FOKKERJ
P.S. It does look like a German machine!

For me the rear undercarriage strutt looks too short for an Albatross C1 - and besides would a laughing Flamingo be that kind to us?

With the horizontal stabilizer on top of the fuselage I'll go for an LVG BII.

And if you don't like that guesstament, based on the position of the crosses, tailplane etc - I'll go for the Euler BII.

Nothing is TOO dificult for you, this should have lasted a bit longer... wallbash.gif
Well, the caption in Nowarra, 5o years says B.I but there is way too little documentation to describe the differences to the B.II so Euler B type would have been perfectly ok. Compared to most photographs the wing tips seem to be more rounded on this one.
