1/32 DH-2 is started
Here is a snapshot of the left top wing of my latest project, a card model of the Airco DH-2. More to come as I get-er done.
I will probably change the rendition of the rib tapes as I experiment with possibilities of how to portray such.
Later, Mike

Thanks
Should I get into the card business? I'd probably be good at it but i don't build card models and I have no interest in them except for looking at them. I'm a plastic model type of guy

Hello people,
Using the fantastic example posted by Blowhard, I have worked up a version of the Bristol Fighter's Right Upper Wing. I'm new to this sort of drawing, but I believe I'm starting to get the hang of it. This was done in Corel 8 as a vector drawing, and then converted to bitmap form for displaying here.
Hopefully this will be finished out as a 1/32 card model.
Thanks for looking. Any comments, suggestions, and such are welcome.

I have a card model of a Be2f that I'm going to convert to represent Leefe Robinson's BE2c, and I had the following thoughts on wings.
I plan to do the ribs and spars in basswood, according to the datafile plans.
Then I plan to cover them with transluscent card stock, which is available at art/craft stores.
Because of my project, I have scanned the card model pages at high resolution and am re-working the wings to be BE2c type, and colouring the rest to suit the subject.
I'll then remove all colour from the wings, basically making them outlines and print them onto the translucent card.
Then I'll assemble the wings as per instructions.
Then I'll build up layers of CDL/PC10 paint on the surfaces with acryllics thinned with future. This acts as a thinner, but also adds a translucent quality to the paint. I'll keep building up layers and holding it to the light till I'm happy, or so distraught that I give up!

Hi Rob,
Where did you get a card model of a BE2f?
Cheers,
Hugh

Enough is enough !
OK folks, here is the last version of this monster. I re-drew this &$(*@^%! more times than I can remember. That Corel sure is packed chock full of way cool drawing tools. I have only just begun to scratch the surface of what could be done, but I've had enough with this wing. Now on to the tailplanes.
Thanks for looking. Any comments welcome.

EDIT NOTICE:
I just noticed that I fffffffffforgot the hinges for the aileron.
I guess I'm not done after all.

Mike,
Hinges or no, that is one fine looking wing.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Bob
