Hobbycraft 1/32 Nieuport 17 wheels look to big.

I was wondering if the kit wheels are out of scale they look way to big. I have the Hobbycraft Camal and SPAD wheels, which ones would be more accurate for the Nieuport 17. Thanks

I too have the Hobbycraft 1/32 Nieuport 17, in Billy Bishop's colours.

Comparing a photo of Billy in front of the real thing, the model kit's wheels look OK to me.

I don't have the numbers, but, there you go.

Do a picture search on line.

Cheers,

Its the raised lacing and the fatness of the tires that I don't like with this kits wheels. But that has been fixed now.... See http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/mo...wl-wheels.html

Yes, the lacing is a bit much and perhaps the tyres are a bit fat.

There are other things about the kit that need work too.

Hopefully Special Hobby or Roden will produce a more detailed accurate kit of one of the sharpest looking biplanes of that era.

Cheers,
