Sopwith Triplane G limit
The new issue of the Naval Institute Proceedings has an article about G tolerance, written by a student naval aviator. He says the first recorded instance of G-induced loss of consciousness (GLOC) occurred in a Tripe in 1918.
I sorta-kinda remember that subject on this forum quite awhile back but cannot find it. Questions:
Is it true? (Probably dang few Tripes still flying in '18.)
If so, how much G was induced (at what airspeed) and how was it measured?
What was the Tripehound's G limit, plus and/or minus?
Thanks muchly.
