Two Fokker Olives?

Hello everybody,

On Fokker aircraft, was the olive color applied to the fabric surfaces to create the streaky finish the same color as the paint used on the metal parts?

Thanks for your help,
Erik

I've always thought that the underneath colour would have something to do with the "look" of the olive, as well.

ie on the wings it was painted on top of the original CDL, was it not? And would there be any translucence through a DR.1 wing?

As for the metal parts, wouldn't they have been grey or at least aluminium, before application of the olive. And, of course wouldn't have been translucent in any way.
