German Naval Lozenge

Perhaps this topic has been addressed before, however, I don't seem to be able to locate anything on it. But, I am not the brightest bulb on the string of lights.

What was the method used by the builders of German naval aircraft in attaching the naval lozenge fabric to the wing surfaces in regards to taping on the ribs? I have never actually read or heard precisely how it was accomplished. Regular fighter aircraft, as we are all familiar with, have obvious rib tapes, either solid color or cut from the material itself. Most naval aircraft photos that I have seen do not show any close-ups of the upper wing surfaces to judge how it was done and most color artwork does not show such tapes. Certainly, there was some method used. Thanks.
