It looks like an S.E.5a that has met up with some serious jungle types.
By Golly! They look like "GIANT EUCALYPTUS"!!!!

S.E.5a

I am away from home so can't give exact details, but Orm Denny was flying the photographic plates of the official opening of Canberra back to Melbourne(?) when he crashed. He pancacked in and was not hurt. Hid photos in hollow log, started to walk out, found a hut and occupant in short time. Tooke party back when this photo was taken. The remains of the S.E.5a remained there for years until found by landclearing in 1960s(?). Remains in RAAF Museum. Photos still not found!

I knew the foliage would tempt FokkerJ out into the open

A2-11 was D8474. Crashed into tree tops near Mansfield Victoria on 10/5/27 by Sgt Orm D Denny. It had 154hrs flying time and was approved for part salvage with the rest written off on 10/10/27. The wreckage was rediscovered 4/63.
