WOW Miniatures - Series II

Anyone purchased the newly released Series II miniatures yet? Any thoughts?

The quality on the series 1 list was very good - my only hair splitting gripe being that it would have been nice to see the cockpit with an actual pilot in it. The Series 2 list looks good and there are a few snapshots here:

Wargame Miniatures

The two seaters look interesting.

Still looking out for the series 2 models down here. But, the RAF Wargames Association experienced its first WoW game during its championships weekend at RAF Cosford. The game was very well received and the sole trader attending, sold quite a few of the first series models. He hadn't received any series 2. Onward and upward.

Yip. Safe to say that the entire thread is pretty negative... Doesn't even seem like it is a case of a few dodgy models or a dodgy batch. Hmm, maybe I'll hold off on these for a while and see if things improve in the second run.

That said, I'm not going to get too hung up on the colour of the tyres. But I can understand the frustration and clearly the new models don't come out so well when compared to the Series 1 models which is a worry. Might be a case of tracking them down on the High Street to have a look first rather than ordering them online...

I'd say definitely buy in a shop, if they still have the see through boxes. That's how I'll purchase mine and I'll let you know how I get on.

Thumbs down

Has anyone seen any sign of Series 2 in the U.S. yet?

I received my set last night, and I would have to say that the negative forum has some very high expectations. For mass-quantity produced models, these are great!! Yes, the decals are not all applied perfectly, but the finished product is still very cool. 8 of the 9 I ordered were perfect 10s, and I really like this guys ideas on how to spruce them up a bit- Derek's Wee Toys I like that i have a blank white DVII that I can convert easily to any Jasta that I please!
My local shop sold out before it could even fill pre-orders, so these may become tough to come by. I just hope they continue to produce the series, would love to get S.E.5As vs Pfalz DIIIas & Bristol F2bs vs Hannover CL3s

I bought Barker's Snipe, Atkey's DH4 and Görings Fokker D7 a couple of days ago and I do feel that on balance they aren't as well finished as Series 1. Slightly bigger scale as well I think... With pilots this time around too, which was one of my bugbears from the previous series. Overall, I am happy with them. Though I can understand why some might question the finishing in certain parts.

Love the DH4 though ... Looking forward to playing it!

I did a pdf-file with pictures (from official sources) of all Wings of War planes available.
Please note that the D.H.4 uses the A and B damage deck.

Got 'em

Managed to buy a few of the series 2 planes. Agree with cubsfan4life about the white DVII. Only a few minor glitches with the transfers which are easily rectified. Still worth the money after my last stint at super gluing white metal 1/144th planes.
