Panit Questions

HI Everybody!,
I was recently in a toy/model warehouse were they were trying to unload a bunch of old paints and such (Pactra etc....) I noticed alot of them in the bottles were either seperated or it looked like some had evaporated. Is it possible to shake the paint, to mix it back together? Would the paint in the cans, do the same thing? ( i.e. separate and evaporate) They are practically giving the stuff away trying to sell it by the case. I held off on getting any until I could get a little advice. Please if anyone had some input it would be much appreciated.

Hi Fokker,

Welcome to the Aerodrome!
If they are that cheap, "trying to give it away", take some and try it out . Shake it real good to see if it mixes back up, then experiment with a paint brush and some thinner and see how it holds up on a sample piece.
Just a thought. Enjoy your stay.

Best Regards, FOKKERJ

Fokker, Fokker, Hmmm.... Fokker. Damn that name sure sounds familiar!

Hi, and Welcome!

FokkerJ's got it: buy a couple, and really try them out: paintbrush, airbrush, everything. Make sure you get "the right thinner," whatever that is: depends on the paint manufacturer. But be careful: if this stuff has separated too much, or if too much of the thinner has evaporated, the paint may be beyond recall. Did I mention, "Be careful?"

Caveat Emptor: "Buyer, beware!" My two cents worth!
