D.viii

Hi Stephen:
Could you say more about the origin of the 2004 fuse and which wheels you used in the landing gear. Is that a 220 Continental? Also, who built the wing?

Looks ready to go.

Thanks.

Yes please, what Pete said. Can you imagine what a more colorful bird she would be if the wings were multi-colored streaked!

What Jasta and pilot had this personal paint scheme?

Nice D.VIII, thanks for sharing! Please keep us posted on the rest of the progress.

Well, I know the colors are from MFJ I. But not the pilot.
I would love to find a gem like that.

Greetings tengew;
Me - probably not . Her first pilot will be Mark Holiday the foundation's chief test pilot, casino bottle washer and retired commercial pilot. Scratch the previous statement about two weeks. Andy wants to put her in the fly in so.;

The maiden flight is scheduled "Officially" for May 17 2008.

Greetings pete;
The fuselage was posted for sale here on the "Drome" in about 2003-4. The builder was an engineer on the Space Shuttle projects. These wheels in the first image came with the fuselage. The motor is 220hp (230hp) Continental? At a mile above sea level we really need more horse power. The wing was built by our shop foreman Mike Desanti and his manufacture team at the foundation shop / hangar #2.

Greetings WF2;
I wish it had been streaked. But there was a concern about paint stores that were already purchased for the project. In short, spending more money. As Killian remarked this is similar to the Sachsenberg scheme he used on his Fokker D.VII and his E.V. Or at least what we believe was his.

Here is a bit of fun for you and Bookmaker
