Greetings,

In my opinion, RB3D is the best WW1 flight sim ever made. Unfortunately, you can't find it new in the stores anymore as it is rather old...relatively speaking (unless some one else sets me straight, here). Anyway, you might be able to get a used copy somewhere. And there are several patches available, the latest is Full Canvas Jacket (I'm still waiting on my copy). Check some recent posts about this patch.

Also, you might want to check out some recent posts about two new games that should release next year, I believe. Birds of Prey and Knights over Europe. Both have been discussed recently in this section.

Good luck and happy flying!

Yes, that one is definately the best, especially when you add on all the goodies that have been created by enthusiasts since it was released some 6 years ago. It is dated but the add-ons have really extended the life of the sim and some of the new skins and landscapes are spectacular. The campaign and mission builder engines are superb as well. Now, of course there is not a lot to compare Red Baron3d to since the WWI sim market has been so anemic over the years. Most releases for this genre have been arcade style and not to the liking of serious simmers. Hopefully next year's release of Knights Over Europe will offer WWI aviation buffs something they have needed for years - a competetive follow-up to Red Baron!!
