Hi Froggy:
You are very close. You have found the machine, bur, as far as I can tell, have the wrong designation. The Curtiss C-1 “Canada”, Challenge 186, was a twin engined bomber.

Froggy,
It looks like you have the right foto with the wrong caption????
It is a good looking machine! The fuselage reminds me of my sidecar, except mine has eight flat panels culminating in the forward center. We call it "THE ZEPPELIN".
Happy Trails, FOKKERJ

The same photo shows up in a photo album from a Curtiss test pilot, marked unidentified. ( Cogswell Album). I don't remember it being in the book describing Canandian aircraft. Is there any single source that describes the apparent multitude of Curtiss aircraft of this period?

Aerofiles lists two 2-place Curtiss pushers that I can't find pictures of. BAP of 1914 and KPL of 1915. If it is either, I would guess 1915.

H: All:
My source for this machine is Peter M. Bowers’ book CURTISS AIRCRAFT 1907 – 1947. The machine presented, the sole example of its kind, was known as the G or as the Pusher R, depending on the photo. The G designation is confusing, as it had already been used for a 1913 tractor machine acquired by the Army. The Pusher R is based on the fact that the wings and tail surfaces came from an R. The wings did undergo significant changes over the machine’s life.
When I looked at Aerofiles, I didn’t see either designation for this machine, or any other.
So, in order to move on, I will award .8 to Froggy and await his 320.
BTW, Where is Kees?

Hi Dave_Kent!
Your scoreboard is a bit outdated. There are points awarded to you, me, Rbailey, and may be others.
Merry Christmas!
