Question on 3 U.S. Air Service Pilots - paper groups to be sold
I am going to have to sell 3 paper groupings from WWI U.S. Pilots. Includes photos, letters, etc. I am curious if anyone here has any info on them?
1. Robert S. Oliver, 2nd U.S. Air Service, Sig. R.C.? 2. Wilmer K. Bond, (have post-war records, but not sure exact WWI record) 3. Charles H. Ramsey, U.S. Air Service and paperwork for John Hay Thompson - who I don't think made it overseas. Does anyone know of a source I can get a bio on these guys? Thanks! |

Robert Stone Oliver, Yale University class of 1916. Enlisted 17 April 1917, Ground School at MIT, Kelly Field and Memphis, Tenn. Comm 2/Lt. Air Service 21 March 1918. Instructor in Aerobatics, 3rd AIC, Issodun 19 August to 26 Dec 1918. Discharged March 1919.
Charles Henry Ramsey, Cornell Univ. 17, Mechanical Engineering. Enliusted 14 May 1917, Comm 1/Lt. Air Service. "Transfer Pilot" (Ferry pilot) Orly, France. Discharged 24 February 1919. I have nothing on Wilmer Bond. Your turn ! - post a couple of photos of these guys...
