Dear Fellow Forumites,
It is with deep embarrassment that I have to make an explanation for this challenge. When I started this thread, I
"ASSUMED" that the seller's information on this foto was accurate. In my haste to post an image for this challenge I failed to verify this caption's accuracy:
"WK1 Foto FLUGZEUG Flieger Zusammenstoß FEA 3 Gotha".
I thought that would make for a great challenge.
On closer examination it is definitely not a Gotha! I have studied it with my available resources and have come up with the following:
Not enough identifiable details to come to an accurate conclusion!
With that said, I award the following points for:
Colin A Owers 0.25 for an honest try.
Froggy 0.25 for being right on all accounts.
Rod_Filan 0.25 for probably being right!
Rbailey 0.25 for a good answer. Accurate or not, I do have an artist's rendition of an Albatros D.I or D.II with mudguards.

I'm awarding the Host of the next challenge to whichever of these four guys can post this thread first! Just to get this puppy rolling.
After much research, I'm inclined to think that the machine on the left may be an A.E.G. C.IV, top and bottom wing shape. The machine on the right has a claw brake, mud guards, a distinct fuselage bottom, and an almost recognizable rudder. Not much to go on! Had it only have been a Gotha!
Best Regards,

FOKKERJ FEUCHTWANGER
