I was very fortunate today to receive a copy of Eve Golden's book about Vernon and Irene Castle aptly titled
Vernon and Irene Castle's Ragtime Revolution.
As many of the 'dromer's know Eve was on the forum a while back asking for our help to flesh out Vernon's WW I aviation career. I have only just begun to read it, but Eve has done a nice job so far of setting the scene in 1906 as William Vernon Blythe begins his entertainment career. Just a quick persusal of the photos shows she's done her homework and her writing style is entertaining and evocative.
Since his flight training, service with 1 Sq in France and his subsequent return and instructors duty obviously large parts of his life, Eve has devoted several chapters to that period.
I'll post more when I get through the book, but for those of you who have helped Eve birth this book - I think you'll be pleased with the results.
Hopefully, Even will pop up again and take a few bows....
