Roland CII Camo

I have a Eduard kit that shows Roland CII as being painted brown/green over blue. Is this correct? I've seen blue or green/ mauve over blue, but not sure on the green/brown . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No mauve at all. Please reference Mr Abbott's article here on this board:

Greetings sb1;

Jan and Dan are correct. The colours dk green, light (Brunswick) green and red (Venetian)brown were in use during the Roland C.II & C.IIa production series.

LFG Roland C.II

s1b:
From Schlachtflieger!, page 117 by Rick Duiven and Dan-San Abbott. It reads:
"The Roland C.II machines in the first two orders were painted all in the Sky Camouflage of pale bluish white all over. Commencing with the third order, LFG Roland introduced their Terrain/Sky Camouflage Scheme of chestnut brown and light greyish green on the top and side surfaces and pale bluish white on the under surfaces. Linke-Hoffmann painted the aircraft in both orders on the top and side surfaces burnt sienna and pastel greyish green and blusih white on the under surfaces. The fin and rudder were painted white." Linke -Hoffmann serial numbers were for first 12 Rol.C.II(LiHo) was C.1851 to 1862/16 and the second order for 40 more was C.3624/16 to 3663/16. If the model you are maing does not have these serial numbers, it was then made by LFG Roland and follow the LFG Roland C.II color scheme.

LFG Roland C.II camouflaging.

dglewwe:
Both LFG Roland and Linke-Hoffmann used diagonal banding in the their respective camouflage schemes. you should consult photographs to apply the camouflage of the Rol.C.II you are modeling. They were not nice a symetrical and precise.
