Aero Camera

I recently purchased an aero recon camera of WWI vintage. It was made by Thornton Pickard Co. It appears to be made of oak with brass fittings. The round barrel is about 32 inches long and has a 6 1/2 inch square piece at the top containing a black cloth piece that I take to be the shutter mechanism. The camera lacks a lens, view finder and filmholder. I'd appreciate any info that you can share with me. Joe G this might be up your alley.
Thanks
Bob
