Hannover CL V Ardpol 1:72, my first resin built

Hello, it is my first post here, so I'll try to introduce myself. I am from Kraków ( Cracow ) Poland. I WW aviation seems to be my main hobby . No wonder I finally landed here.
This is my last built, Hannover CL V 1:72 from Ardpol. This is my first resin kit. Until now goes without any problems, all fits well.
The fuselage:

Wings, strutts etc.:

Now it,s time for lozenge stripes.

Little update

Hello,

it's time for a very modest update. Since the last post I managed to finish the fuselage:

the lower wings are also almost ready. I added blue lozenge stripes, it's possible that the stripes were lozenge colours, but in 1/72 that means ca. 30 stripes 0,4 mm wide. Mayby I'll cut them for my next model:

Soon there will be time of putting all the finished parts together, hope I'll manage.

Woodgrain

Hi,

for woodgrain effect in this model only acrylic paints were used. First I sprayed the fuselage with Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow. When completely dry, I used Tamiya XF-64 Red Brown, XF-57 Buff and Lifecolor Middle Stone acrylic.
The above colours were painted with "halfdry" to drybrush. I apply the paint in different directions, mosly along the fuselage. The brush is important I think. I usually use the brushes with short, "hard" hair. Something like those:

When I'm satisfied with the wood effect I spray the whole surface with Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange, the thinner the sprayed layer the lighter the colour and of course the opposite. You can vary the shade by the thickness of the paint layer.

Then Microscale glos varnish, decals, one more layer of gloss varnish, a little weathering, mostly with dry pastels and finally satin varnish.

I hope this explanation is clear enough, easier to paint than to explain .
