Kees' Korner #4

Looking for the possibilities of placing another in the endless Breguet Challenge series, I found this peculiar one, but ................ given the strict rules of headmaster Breguet it will possibly not run.

Although the designer had it probably in his head before 11 november 1918, realisation was later 1919 (begin 1920 ?), so the axe falls. But there is always Kees' Korner, so here is installment No.4. Think about it hard, no rules, no prices, no nothing.

The question is, what is this beauty, how is it named, where is it from AND where hangs a replica of it (in which museum). And again... no prices (at least not from me).

I trust on you

Superquick recognition Sobrien, a new Ace is coming in the Aerodrome forum.

I was delighted the find the old picture of the Italian Ricci 6 machine, which was actually a super lightweight sporting machine introduced just after the war. It is clear in my mind that this Ricci has it roots backwards in the triplane tradition of the Great War.
The machine was exhibited in the Paris show of 1920 together with a two seat version (the Ricci 9) which was also a triplane. The machine was commercially not a success to say it mildly (probably no examples were sold) and it vanished in obscurity.
It is intriguing to realize that a replica was built just of this (almost completely unknown plane) to hang from the ceiling in the Milan Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia "Leonardo da Vinci" ! If there are people in the neighbourhood of this museum or visit it please take some new pictures of this machine.

The replica looks by the way astoundlingly good from this picture.

I've got the book Triplanes by Peter Bowers and remembered the Ricci 6 from the book. There are several pictures in the boo. That is a beautiful color photo you have there.
