I have found a couple of vague references as to the site of No. 20 Squadron. One says it was at Calais and another refers to Iris Farm. I can't find anything other than referrals to plant nurseries (as you would expect) for the latter and I got badly bogged down at the UK PRO trying to track down records.
Does anyone know where I go to get some greater detail?
Thanks
David

This may or may not help, but there were two articles published on 20 Sqn. RFC/RAF, both in Cross & Cockade (Great Britian), and both in Vol. 4, No. 1, whatever year that was. R.

The C&C article mentions that they were located at Iris Farm in Oct./18.
Another article in OTF locates Iris Farm about 14 miles South-east of Cambrai.

Hope this helps.

In Squadrons of The Royal Air Force by James J Halley, 20 Sqn is quoted as being at Clary/Iris Farm 25 October to 2 December 1918.

Clary is about 5Km south west of Bertry and about the same distance due east of Selvigny. Anyone interested can try using www.multimap.com

Dan-San and Andrew

I hadn't mentioned the site before since one I'd previously been using to try and locate the area of combats suddenly went belly-up. This one has been around for a little time now and seems "stable".
