Deutsches Heer Luftshiff L.Z.77 (Baunummer LZ 47)
After a bombing raid on the railway station of Révigny L.Z.77 was caught in the searchlights and shot down by French AA fire based near Brabant-le-Roi and crashed near Révigny on 22 February 1916. All 11 crewmen died--some jumped to keep from being burned alive. Kommandant was Hauptmann Horn.
L.Z.77 was used for the
Spähkorb (Reconnaissance basket) experiments during the fall of 1915 and was successively based at Spich, Namur, Hage and lastly at Düsseldorf.
