Roden 1/48 Junkers D.I

I just received my September Squadron flyer & there on the back cover is the All New Roden 1/48 Junkers D.I.
Does anyone actually have this one in there greasy little mitts yet?
I wonder if Squadron actually has this one in stock?

I may just have to give them a call tomorrow AM!

Roden's site has it as out now. NKR downunder here has it as coming soon. So lets hope it is real soon.

There goes the big prices on eBay for the BM kit of this plane.

Roden and camo question

I called Squadron yesterday and ordered one - the individual taking my order didn't say anything about them not being in stock, the flyer also has the Blue Max Vickers FB2 Gun Bus for $24.95 I 'almost' came close to ordering another one.

I got out the old Profile on the D.I and the Datafile and it doesn't appear there are many choices as to squadron markings on these. Was the chocolate brown fuselage with mauve and green wings a one and only or was this scheme more common?

The 1919 UK exploitation report on the captured D.I described the fuselage color as the chocolate brown. And under the brown was the factory mauve & green. There is a B&W picture of another D.I, from the Datafile booklet, that has a "uniform" color over the fuselage and the color bands. So, that's at least 2 D.I's with the brown fuselage.

Roden Junkers D.I arrived today from Squadron

Roden kit is the shortened fuselage version with marking for the aircraft on the cover of the Datafile (white and blue stripe) or for 5185/18. I held the fuselage against the GA drawings in the FD and it appaers to be right on the mark. The kit's wings are slightly longer lengthwise than the DF not by much.

Very little flash, the corrugations are well done and the interior has several formers to add both behind and in front of the seat.

For someone looking for a quick WWI build this one should fit the bill.

Good to hear they got the Fuselage right in this scale.
