Kingsbury Aerodrome

It's been a hell of a long while since I've posted about our facility located between San Antonio and Houston....closer to the former. Career change getting in the way. But work continues. We're still working on various aircraft, the Dr.I just that much closer. Also work continues on the Brisfit, SPAD XIII, a couple of Thomas Morse Scouts and a few others. The Dr.I shown has had its cowling painted since. We're just trying to get the LeRhone working well and we should head to the skies soon. A new hangar recently built has helped out with the space problem we had.

One never grows tired gazing at the cheerful face of a Dr-I! Reminds me of Thomas the tank engine.

I'll have to ask Roger Freeman who the prop maker was. I used to know, but the name has faded from my brain.

prop maker

the prop was probably made by Mike Redpath of Oklahoma. He is the one making the prop for the Hippert DVII.

Was he one of Ole Fahlin's old crew?

Stencil for the cowl

Hey, Bill-
Looks like I won't be able to make the Fokker work weekend so I am sending the full-sized stencil with the other Bill. It should fit perfectly. I spent many an hour looking over all the photos I could find and measured it exactly to our cowl (rivets and all) based on Ron's photos. Anyway, the attached stencil is 1/2 size just in case the other one gets damaged and y'all need to print it in an emergency - just scale it up.
Later,
Carl
