Where is this?
Hello forum mates. I found this interesting postcard for sale. Can someone tell me where this depicted place should be or if it could be a fictional motive?
It is captioned: Confiscation of an enemy airplane factory by the German cavalry. Postcard is from ca 1915.

Look like Russia but this have to be check out as well I know that there was captured airplanes but not sure about any factory.

I think it t is not fiction, Kilian!
In late August or early September 1914 a French airplane factory with ca. 30 engines and / or airplanes was captured by German cavalry (to my knowledge in the area of the German - in fact Saxon - 3. Armee). If my memory serves me correct it was a Deperdussin enterprise but I should look for the correct name. |
