ssw d-iii, 'iv construction

in my quest to find info on the late-war ssw craft in the absence of windsock references, i came across a blurb which indicated that fabric was doped over the ply fuselage. if this is the case, how would such be rendered in a 72nd scale model? simply a semi-gloss linen, beige color? would the wood grain be at all visible?

please forgive my posting this here if it should have been in the 'models' forum; help, as usual is greatly appreciated!!!

My Gallery
SSWD.III &D.IV fuselages.

Expositor:
The fuselages of the SSW D.III and D.IV were covered with birch plywood stained a reddish brown and varnished to water-proof the plywood. They were NOT covered with fabric.
Blue skies,
