Hi Gunnar,

Wish I could help here. I seem to remeber that the unit was covered quite thoroughly in one of the Neil O'Connor books but haven't been able to find it. Just curious if you were doing research on this unit and how it came to be a "feeder" unit for many of the fine pilots that went to Jasta 8 at its formation in Sept '16? (Goettsch, Franke, et el)

Best,

Holck

Thanks Holck

Actually, I needed the information of FA 33 in 1918 for another project which I am working on. However, I have a great interest in German units and personal, and I try to pick up any available information for making my material more complete...

I knew there exist a limited material on FFA 33 in Freiburg, which I havent read yet, which covers some months in 1916..

Do you happened to knew when Göttsch arrived to FFA 33..?

Regarding Franke, I havent seen before that he served within FFA 33, so that was new information... ...any servicing dates..?

Otherwise, I am trying to find if there existed any Army KEKs in Flanders during 1916. Possible pilots like Göttsch,Franke etc ought to have been attached to a KEK. And why should the 4 German Army be the "only" Army without those so called temporary units....it is indeed strange..

Further, I only knew of one "early" FFA 33 pilot who later joined Jasta 8, and it was Lt Werner Junck...
