Camel propeller?

Folks!

I've been wondering about the Ian Stair's drawing of the Sopwith Camel airscrew in the WS datafile 26, the 'Alternative Airscrew' drawn separately. The shape has been copied to the Kagero book on Camel, to the Eduard kit and so on. I haven't - however -found a propeller looking like that in any period photos of Camels! The tips of the blades always seem to be wider. The only ariscrew looking like the Ian Stair drawing, is IMHO the one on the Camel in The RAF Museum, London. So what is the story? Does anybody know?

Yours

Mikko

PS. The 2F.1 Camel in The Imperial War Museum seems to have a non satandart propeller, too, and that has ended up to the WS Datafile on Ship Camel as well!

Here's a photo of a Camel prop hanging on my wall.

It's drawing number AD644, used for a Clerget 130, and it's also stamped Sopwith F1, along with the other info, on the hub.

Here's the RAF Museum Camel from another angle. Looks like the propeller is quite 'normal'. ie it looks like Dbahn's prop above and the props in many old photos of Clerget Camels:

So the RAF Museum specimen does not explain the airscrew in Ian Stair's drawings in the WS datafile on Camel or this Eduard kit part:

So, I'm still wondering, whether this is is some rare type of a Camel propeller or what?
