Hi,

On the 20th or 22nd (probably the last date) December 1914 this unit lost no less then 25 men of personnel at Bikschote.

This made me think of a possible Zeppelin loss, but I don't seem to have anything corresponding in my information. Or do I have it wrong, was there another reason for this big loss of personnel ?

Thanks and best from Regulus

Regulus,

No these guys were chewed up in the ground action known as 'the race to the sea'. No aviation connection - other than their unit, i.e. they used as infantry. R.

Aha ! I already found it bizar ! That is indeed the logical explanation for the loss.

Thanks Rick !

Hello,

This Feld-Luftschiffer-Bataillon keeps having heavy casulaties even in 1915. I noticed the strange thing also and came to the same conclusion (used as infantry).

Hi Jan,

What a coincidence ! I just came the day before yesterday to the same conclusion. They had a quite impressive list of losses at Bikschote in December 14 and later on indeed.
I'm working quite intensive on the von Eberhardt list for the moment. So that explains a number of my questions on this forum in the last days.

Thanks and best from Regulus
