Sgt Frantz Samol, Schsta 13

Hello all,

A friend of mine haves a parent named Frantz Samol, who made WW1 in German aviation, and was wounded in action (wounded in the hand). This is the only thing he knows...

I opened "Casualities of German air service" (Norman Franks, Grub Street) and discovered a senior unteroffizier Samol, Schsta 13, wounded in action on 31 july 1918.

Can anyone give me more details ? Were was Schsta 13, what kind of planes this unit flew, and eventually any info on Frantz Samol ?

Thanks !

Regards,
DTB

Flieger Samol

Hello DTB,

I found infos about Flieger Samol in the book SCHLACHTFLIEGER.
Samol (P) was WIA on 31 july 1918 during air combat and Flieger Pawlack (G) is IIC in the ensuing forced landing.
The unit was in this time on the airfield Ingelmunster.

greeting
Reinhard

Hello, Reinhardt !

Excellent ! Can you send me a scan of the page ? I will post you the issue number 4 of "Dogfight", about the air battle of Verdun. Take your german/french phase book with you...

Vive la Bavière !
