Roland D.II/D.II Crosses

The crosses on the fuselage of Roland D.II's and D.III's are thicker than normal, the width of the arms is about half the length rather than 4/10 of it. I can approximate them as I have done here:
My numbers are based on calculation, assuming the width of the arm is half the length, and the narrow part of the arm is half the width. This fits with measurements that I made, but the largest cross that I measured was only 14 mm, so it is far from exact. Does anyone have the actual specifications for these crosses?

I have not seen any good images of the wing crosses. The one picture where I could see anything, looked like the crosses were normal. Does someone know if they conformed to the specifications of 25/7/16 and 29/10/16?

Steve

Roland D.II crosses.

Steve:
The crosses painted on LFG built Roland D.II and subsequent were non-specification. The Rol.D.II, D.IIa machnes built by Pfalz Flugzeugwerke complied with the Idflieg directives.

Dan-San,

Thank you for the reply. Most of the pictures that I have seen must have been LFG machines.
