B.E.2g. ?

Greetings forumites and Happy new year. Manfred von Richthofen's 28th victory is recorded as being a B.E.2g., #2824. What, (if any) structural differences could distinguish the "g" from the B.E.2c??? It has also been noted that the Baron's Halberstadt D-II could have been painted bright red. Could this have been a possibility or could the reddish brown cammo paint scheme been reported as bright red? Thanks for your help...TeeKay.

The BE2g was a BE2d fitted with the BE2e unequal span wings.

BE2fs were BE2cs similarly fitted with BE2e wings.

Cheers,
