Fellas my deepest apologies. Ive been working with the Web Host and trying to get back up online. I hope to be sucessfull near the end of the week ?
In attempting to Upload a large Update I mistakenly erased my own site ? DOH !
I was annoucing a Hasegawa Sopwith for retail as well as new Contact Resine 1:24 Collector Series Releases due early spring 07 which will be available for order here in the US thru MKUSA.
STOCKS ARE LOW ON Many Popular Colors. I have place a small Re-Order over 10 days ago, but making a Stock Order at the Hieght of the Holiday Season has proved slow. It will come soon.
On a Side Note for those of you who mave not have seen a 1/2 oz paint can of Humbrol Paint in Decades and might not have gotten round to translating Roden's Color/Profile Chart for their 1:32 Albatros to other manufacturers, I've taken the liberty here to help a little ?
If I may Paraphrase a bit from my site (AND PLEASE Don't take this AS RULE Nor Gospel just gen info ?) :
AS near as I have learned there in general were three Camo Schemes which the ALb evolved thru before the general use of Prinited Lozenge Fabric for Wing and tail surfaces. Remeber as well the D.III was pretty much a stable of the German Airforces which produced in large numbers served much longer than thought through out the war.
Metal Surfaces such as Struts and Engine Cowls inspection plates etc. Commonly were often either a Primer Lt Grey (MK GC08) or Alb Dark Green (MK GC05) sometimes (MK GC04) Alb Pale Green as well.
Undersides were in general (MK GC03) Pale Blue
Early Factory Delivered Alb's came in a Two Tone Terrain Camo Scheme
TWO TONE : Primairly (MK GC05) Green (Roden Alb L) and (MK GC01) Red Brown (Roden Alb M)
Later a Three Tone Terrain Camo Scheme came into play with (Production ACFT D.I. 436/16 plus ?) the Addtion of (MK GC04) Pale Green to the Two Tone Scheme.
THREE TONE : Primairly (MK GC05) Green (Roden Alb L) and (MK GC01) Red Brown (Roden Alb M) Plus (MK GC04) Pale Green (Roden Alb N)
April 1917 the Inspector General so to speak of the German Airforce Ordered a correction to the above schemes as the Green and Red Brown was too close to the same colors being imployed by the french ie. Nieport 17's and other ACFT camo schemes at the time.
Simply the Red Brown was replaced by (MK GC02) Mauve and the Pale Green Dropped all together.
Late Mauve Two Tone:
(MK GC05) Green (Roden Alb L) & (MK GC02) Mauve (Roden Alb I)
MK GC01 Albatros Red Brown = Roden Alb-M
MK GC02 Albatros Mauve = Roden Alb-I
MK GC03 Albatros Pale Blue = Roden Alb-O
MK GC04 Albatros Pale Green = Roden Alb-N
MK GC05 Albatros Green = Roden Alb-L
MK GC08 German LT Grey = Roden ALb-A
MK GC10 German CDL = Roden Alb-H
The Albatros was in effect an International fighter as surplus machine's were requested by the Austro-Hungarians to fight on the Italian Front against the "Nieuport Scourage" Some early models arrived late in the meantime permission was granted to produce them under licence by the AH's. Their ACFT used a Damiler Engine much the same or similar to the engine used on the Hansa Brandenburg DI which Contact Resine has done. This made for a Higher cowling which enlclosed the Machine Guns which then were fired thru Shroud Tubes which ran along each side of the Engine Clyinders. Their engineers also renforced the Wing ribbing attachment to the lower wing spar as well as putting a renforcing metal strut from the lower leading edge attached to the Lower Forward Wing V-Strut. These Mods eliminated the Wing Shedding problem and AH ALb's in service NEVER reported that same problem.
MK has:
MK AH01 AH CDL as well as MK AH05 ALbatros Dark green and MK AH02 Sworl Yellow
You can still email me if you want anything or still need to order ?
