Farman MF.11 Shorthorn departure from the front ???
Hello!
I´m interested in the following data: when exactly (month and year) left the last Farman MF.11 Shorthorn type the frontline units? This type went to war together with the older Farman MF.7 Shorthorn and stayed longer in service due to slightly better performance data. But in comparison with contemporary German B-class aircraft (or later the early C-class aircraft) they were inferior. So I think that the last machines of this type left the frontline units in late 1915 or so. But - like with the MF.7 - I found no data concerning this. Thanks in advance for your help!  .

For RFC use, last MF 11 serial 5071, left No. 16 Squadron on 24 Nov. 1915. THE AEROPLANES OF THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS (MILITARY WING), J. M. Bruce, 1982 I will check French, but have no info on Belgian service. Dave |
