Hi !
Amazing what you'll stumble onto on public TV. This afternoon (Sunday the 29th) I just happened to turn on the TV to our public TV channel, and was astounded to see a segment from the "Antiques Roadshow" in Indianapolis in which a fellow was describing and appraising a beautiful piece of insignia fabric from a Spad of Escadrille 78. It was painted in French five-color camouflage, with a beautifully detailed version of the black panther emblem of SPA 78. I didn't catch the entire segment, but I gather the owner picked it up second hand and paid $150 for it years ago. He knew what it was, and had some idea of its historical value. The appraiser judged it as worth $2000 - $4000, which is actually quite cheap considering some of the prices paid at Butterfields auctions recently. Perhaps somebody on the Forum can still catch this episode of "Antiques Roadshow" on their own Public TV channel.
