FYI: Blue Max DVD

If you live in Europe or have a multi-region DVD player like moi and want the Blue Max on DVD, it'll be available 3 February 2003 for the Region 2 area.

http://www.blackstar.co.uk/video/item/7000000075871

And it's in widescreen--yippee!

No word yet on when it'll be released in North America (Region 1).

It's about flippin' time! 8)

Anyone who gets a copy, please post a review, I'd especially like to hear about the picture quality. I've never seen a copy of the film that wasn't fullscreen and grainy.

...especially The Towel Scene. At least the pre-owned copy I saw had that defect. Understandably!

I hope it does come to the States.

But I"ve noticed with a lot of movies that were released quite awhile ago, if it doesn't have a major cult following, then they don't really go to any lengths with DVD extras. On my copy of the Great Escape they actually went to the original site of the real Stalag and the movie Stalag, and interviewed everyone who worked on/in the movie. You never do know. If you were in charge, what extras would you put on Blue Max? (I mean besides the towel business!)

I just checked on Amizon.com and they have the DVD listed on their site. It will be available on May 20 2003 (my B-Day) selling for only $11.24. You can preorder it to.

Here is a link to the DVD on Amizon:
