Best documentation for Albatross D III
Hey, fellas. I recently bought the plans from MAN for the 1/3 scale D III, and was wondering what you consider to be the best sources of documentation for this plane. I want to build her with all the WOW factor she deserves.

Hi warbirdmustang,
Welcome to the forum! The best collection for documentation is probably in the books produced by Albatros Productions. They are the ones who print the Windsock International magazines and Windsock Datafiles, Datafile Specials and the special Anthologies. They have a nice bit of stuff on the Albatros D.III that should answer any questions you have about superdetailing that model. Byrd Aviation Books carries all of their specials--give them a call, I've always been satisfied with their service. Please show us some pics of your project when you've got it framed up! The plans are drawn from the DIII 5 view in the data files Albatross fighters special. There is one easily corrected problem with the plans. The trailing edge of the elevator is to flat. reference the 5 view. I corrected mine but I guess I never updated the plans. Other than that, the plane has got amazing outline scores. Hope that helps!
