LVG CIV and CV info request
There's plenty of info available on the LVG CII as being the first of the C class, and the CVI as one of the most widely used 2-seaters of late war, with 1000 units built in 1918.
I've gone through all the references, including the Jane's reprint, and the only thing I've found on the CIV is on Munson's book
an enlarged version of the CII appeared in 1916: this was the CIV, powered by a neatly cowled 220 HP Mercedes DIV, and having a balanced rudder
Can anybody please post anything or a link or a reference about dimensions, performance figures, a photo, a drawing, a model kit...anything??
It doesn't seem that the CIV was built in large numbers, so did the CII had to soldier on throughout 1916 until the CV appeared in mid 1917?
This machine is purported to be very similar to the DFW CV as the designer was the same. A picture or drawing would be very useful for comparison with the DFW and the later CVI.
Also, where can I find a top view of the CVI?
Anything that sheds light on this obscure albeit interesting airplane very much appreciated.
