Thanks for the interest chaps, Schiffer told me that the book should be back from the printers (Schiffer are "publishers", not "printers") at the beginning of June, so not long now.
Absolutely next to nothing has been published about Naval 6's fighter days, though Cross & Cockade did run a couple of features on 206 Squadron RAF. A large lump of the squadron's records are missing from the Naval 6 "box" at the National Archives and I suppose this put authors off. I found the missing stuff in an RFC Wing War Diary, I just couldn't believe my luck.
Mark Miller has again produced a memorable cover depicting the above mentioned EW Norton vs Herman Göring (I suppose the final result was even as Göring brought FSL Fletcher down, then Norton severed Göring's rudder controls forcing him to land. Lots of Mark's Nieuport 17Bis profiles as well - a beautiful looking aeroplane but drastically flawed.
Paddy,
C&CI has a surfeit of "people" material so it might be some time before Mike O'Connor's piece on Norton gets published - on the other hand it might be out quite soon! I supoose it all depends on how it fits into the melting pot. "Technical" articles get pushed through quite quickly but biographical stuff can hang around a bit.
