German Werner Vos N17 questions

Can someone help with more information on this N17 apparently flown by Voss in August 1917, Bernes Aerodrome?

Where might it have originated from.. the cowling seams being higher up indicate French?

What were the colors...
The yellow doesn't look right?
Would the top of the wings have been the darker pattern with the day sky pattern on the bottom of the wings and fuselage?
What is the crossed symbol in the heart?

Any info and links would be appreciated.
I'm doing skins for the OFF project.
Thanks,

Dear Rabu,

This profile of "Voss's" supposed Nieuport is a hoax, a fake, a joke. This is what's wrong with the internet, in my opinion. Someone makes up something like this, and no matter their original intentions, it gets passed around until people think it's legitimate.

I dunno, isn't that kinda EARLY for the lozenge camouflage to be on a German airplane? besides, why would they have gone through the trouble of ripping all the surfaces off a captured French Nieuport and "reskin" the thing with German lozenge? it doesn't make any sense. and by this point the Nieuport 17 was inferior to the latest Albatros scouts... so it doesn't make any sense for Voss to have flown a captured Nieuport 17 THAT late in the war.

I would not call that an hoax. The drawing is taken from the 'Nieuport Cook up' from the www.ww1-models.org. It has been taken, but the text has not been read. http://wwi-cookup.com/dicta_ira/index.html

Check your sources, gentlemen!

Hans- Anybody who took that seriously is invited to any poker game in which I participate.
