Can anyone point me in the direction of where one can find out about the maneuvers the combat pilots of WWI used?

Upon more examination, terms like 'zoom', 'curves' & 'vrille' had to have originated somewhere early on to become climbs, banks, chandelles, etc....

I've seen a diagram once that looked like it was on yellowed parchment but cannot remember where I saw it...

Any help would be great...

You may be interested in this site which has a book from the WWI era called "Practical Flying" reproduced in its entirety:

http://www.warillustrated.com/practicalflying/

If you choose "102.jpg" from the list on the left side of the web page, it will take you to the start of Chapter 10 "More Advanced Flying". This chapter covers aerobatic maneuvers.

Hope this helps.
