photo help please
Hi Guys, Would apprecaite your help in identifing the two objects in this photo of a Loening M-8. My guess is they are for stepping on? Thanks for your consideration. No that is not me in the cockpit

This is purely a guess, but I think you're right. I'm basing that on the fact that I don't see a step for the gunner to get into the rear cockpit directly on the side of the fuselage. Or any practical way to accomplish it. Therefore I'm speculating that entry was gained via the pilot's cockpit, and that these were reinforced steps used for that purpose. Then again, I could be 100% wrong...
