Seeking scans of 4-c printed fabric

G'day, Forum--
Would anyone have scans, or similar, of original 4-color 'lozenge' fabric that they would be willing to post here or e-mail me directly?

It is not a large fragment, but may be of interest to you.

Maybe you even got this via the article I wrote about it. Anyway, if so, others may find the postings here quite interesting, too.

Achim: Yup, I have had the full download on your fantastic Fokker for some time. I'm really looking for some good, clean "chips" of all the colors.

BTW, will you be reporting on your visit to IWM with Paul Leaman?

Thanks so much for mentioning my site. I am in the midst of restoring a large piece of four color upper surface lozenge fabric about the size of an aileron. You can barely see the pattern through the old dope but I am removing some of the dope literally millimeter by millimeter and should be finished in a little while. It is painstaking work but quite rewarding as the fabric beneath the dope is beautiful.

I also have a smaller piece about 20"x27" of four color under surface fabric from Fok. D.VII (Alb.) 6746 and you can probably find an image of that if you search the aerodrome forum for '6746.'

Our house is in the last stages of renovation and I hope to be coming out from under in a few weeks and then will begin to update my site. If you haven't visited yet, note that the opening page design may be a little too subtle; if you click on the control column grip, you go to the German section, if you click on the caps you go to the British section.

Thank you for the heads-up about your piece of upper 4C. I look forward to seeing a scan of it when you have finished with the cleaning. (I would be interested in its unrestored state, though. For instance, do you think that the obscuring effect of the dope is due to age, or was the pattern suppressed even 85 years ago?)

I've searched for the threads on 6746, and find only a small scan of the area with the stenciling. If you posted a scan of a larger area, it would seem to have become unrecoverable.

When I add it to my website, I will include before and after photos. Normally, I would not remove the dope, but, in this case, the dope is so dark that a pattern can not be discerned without a strong light behind it. It is brittle in places, well adhered in others, and I am removing just enough to see the pattern and leaving dope at critical junctures such as around cut-out points.
