Question Helmuth Weidling, Zeppelin Crewman

Gentlemen,

Helmuth Weidling (General der. Art during WWII) was a crewman in one of the Zeppelins during WWI. What was the name of that airship that he served on. What was his highest wartime rank and the decorations that he earned during WWI?

Sincerely,

Edward

Edward,

Helmuth Weidling's final wartime rank was Oberleutnant (27.1.16 Q8q). He was awarded the following:

Need More Information

Dear Sir,

Thank you for the information about Weidling's WWI awards. I remember that he was also awarded the Zeppelin Naval Badge after WWI was over. How many airships did he served on is up to those who have Weidling's military service record from the beginning until 1945.

Sincerely,

Edward

I show Weidling (as a Ltn.) serving on the Z Sachsen from Jun15 to Sep15. I do not know where he went from there, nor do I know in what capacity he was employed. Still, a little bit of information. R.

Dear Sir,

Well at least we are getting somewhere. I suspect that Weidling had served aboard the Zeppelins for most of World War I.
