Albert Ball article

There is an on-line article about Albert Ball here:

Alert Ball feature

It will be interesting to see what everyone thinks about it - I have several concerns but will stay my hand untill others have read the piece.

I happened upon the article at a local bookstore last month and drew the attention of the staff and other customers as I audibly guffawed over its numerous mistakes. With so much known about Ball and several other top aces I'm always surprised to find such poorly written work being released that just continue to regurgitate the same 90 year old inaccuracies.

Was the article simply assigned to a hack that had never heard of the subject? One of the photos is even captioned by saying Albert Ball's fiancee is in the photo, when clearly there is no woman present! Surely almost anyone that views this web site could have done a better job.

It's all the new inaccuracies he's invented as well that annoy me! I don't think the author was a hack, just someone interested in the subject who should not have attempted to publish before he got his facts straight - Oh - that is a hack isn't it?

Ball would have had the coldest ears in France. Facinating though Ball as a person is, the more facinating is the purchase of the field in which he crashed and died by his father and its continued ownership by the Ball family.

Question

I'd have thought Scarlett might have emptied a drum into this one?
