Postwar D.VII flying axle wings?

A number of Fokker D.VIIs were flown postwar by smaller air forces, and many were Clear Doped Linen color, with painted metal surfaces. But what color would the "wing" axle be, as it's wood?
Which leads me to another question. Will Albatros ever release their fourth volume of the Fokker D.VII anthology?

I think that if you are seeing a "cdl" Fok D VII it is probably a MAG built version. And if so then the landing gear winglet is also "cdl". The Hungarian's inherited a number of them that were finshed and awaiting acceptance flights at the MAG factory when the war ended.

See "Austro-Hungarian Army Aircraft of World War One" page 352 for photos.

Actually, the one I'm working on is Lithuanian. The fabric was applied over the plywood, or the plywood was doped a color to approximate CDL?
