"SFA" Inspection Stamp

Most French propellers, and I'm told many other wooden components in French aircraft, are stamped with a small imprint with the letters "SFA", which I believe stands for some variation of "service" or "society", "fabriques" (?), and "aeronautique" or "aviation", etc.

Does anyone know the exact terms and any history of its significance? Is it in fact an inspection stamp or does it represent something different?

SFA during the Great War seems to have stood for Service des Fabrications de l'Aviation. A later or alternate name form is Service des Fabrications de l'Aeronautique. Ransom
