Fokker DVII propellers

http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=100605&item=618191 9072&rd=1

Firstly there is a fragment for sale on Ebay. I have an identical Wotan 2740D 210ST but was not aware that they were used on Fokker DVII's... were they? I only thought that Heine and Axial propellers were used? Did Salzmann manufacture props for the DVII?? Is there any literature, Idflieg directives on which propellers were used on which planes with pitch etc.???

...and lastly, whilst we are at it what is the reason for labeling propeller as Tropenpropeller. It apears that this would be related to the usage of Mahagony but why go through the process with something as obvious as that. Was there a special usage?

My Gallery
Wotan Propellers.

Wulffo:
The Fok.D.VII machines built by OAW used Wolff, Axial, Anker and Wotan 2800 mm.diameter and the Heine 2780mm diameter. I have it in serial number groups if it is important.

Hello Dan-San, as you know I am very interested in the DVII. Just 2 days ago I found the above mentioned auction. I had been looking for a DVII propeller for a long time only to find out that I may actually own one. Mine is not stamped Fokker DVII though. The number I will look up tonight... as always your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Wulffo

I believe The tropenpropellers - made of mahogany - were intended for areas of climatic extreme, heat/ humidity etc, and were destined for theatres like Africa and Mesopotamia.

Tropical Propeller

Best wishes,

Grovetown.

Hello Dan-San, mine id number 6367 2.75m diameter and 210 Steigung ie for a fast plane... If that were to be amongst your list for the DVII tha would really make my day... all other merc 160hp i own have a Steigung of 175 indicating a slower aircraft (Reschke, Salzmann)... Many thanks in advance Oliver

Could the "slower plane"/"faster plane" be the equivalent of the old propeller company catalogues of listing two types of props for most planes. "cruise" and "climb" with the different pitch for each? I think so. Of course it would be a little hard to ue the sedate term of "cruise" for a fighter aircraft.
